Special Community Projects

About Special Community Projects

The Keweenaw Community Foundation’s Special Community Projects offer a way to support specific initiatives that are actively making an impact across the Keweenaw. These projects are developed in partnership with community leaders and organizations, with KCF providing the structure and support to help move them forward.

Each project represents a focused opportunity to give—allowing you to connect your generosity to the work, people, and places that matter most to you.

By providing training, resources, and support systems, the program helps individuals process stress in healthy ways and strengthens the resilience of those who serve our community.

Keweenaw Heartlands Forest Fund

The Keweenaw Heartlands Forest Fund supports the creation of a publicly owned, locally governed community forest. This effort protects access to more than 30,000 acres of land while ensuring it remains sustainably managed and available for the community to enjoy for generations to come.
