Empowering Local Youth: Spring 2025 Kellogg Youth Fund Grant Recipients Announced
Keweenaw Community Foundation Youth Advisory Council reviewing grant applications.
The Keweenaw Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is excited to announce the Spring 2025 recipients of the Kellogg Youth Endowment Fund grants. A total of $12,000 has been awarded to support youth-focused programs and services throughout Houghton and Keweenaw Counties.
The Kellogg Youth Fund empowers local young people to be active participants in philanthropy by reviewing grant applications and recommending awards to programs that benefit their peers and community. This cycle’s recipients reflect the diverse needs and interests of area youth, from mental health support and literacy programs to physical activity and music education.

Ahmeek Village Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department
For toddler and young children’s playground equipment at Gabriel Chopp Park.CLK Elementary School Library
To purchase materials for their “Get Kids Reading with Graphic Novels” program.Copper Country Angel Mission
For the “School Backpack” program, providing full-sized backpacks for older students.Copper Country Gymnastics
To offer scholarships for their summer gymnastics camp.Copper Island Academy
To purchase a full-sized bass drum and mallet for their school band program.Elaine Bacon Literacy Program
To support the first-ever “Keweenaw Children’s Book Festival.”Keweenaw CAPE
To support volunteer meals for the “Human Library” program and supplies for “Diabetes Camp II.”Love INC of the Copper Country
