Workshop Details
When you're running a community organization, urgent tasks will always eat up part of your calendar—putting out fires, keeping the lights on, and just surviving the week. But checking off a daily to-do list isn't the same as moving your mission forward. Without clear, concrete priorities, it’s easy to spend all your energy running in circles instead of driving real change.
Strategic planning is how you break the cycle. By clarifying your mission and vision and setting concrete long-term priorities and goals, you can stay focused on what matters most.
This introductory workshop will walk through the fundamentals of strategic planning. In one hour, you'll leave with a clearer sense of:
What strategic planning actually involves
How the strategic planning process will help your team create a roadmap to reach where you want your organization to be in 3 to 5 years
How to gauge whether your organization is ready for the process
Who should be at the table when you do it
Think of this as a low-stakes way to figure out whether strategic planning is the right next step for your organization, before you commit the time and resources to actually doing it. No prior experience needed.
Whether you're a nonprofit, municipality, volunteer-led group, small business, or community organization, and you're thinking about the long-term direction of your work, this session is for you.
Please bring a laptop or notebook if you'd like to take notes or save grant resources shared during the workshop.
Free to attend, no RSVP required
60-minute workshop, with time reserved for questions
Open discussion + peer support
Light refreshments provided
Come learn, connect, and gain a clearer sense of whether this process fits your organization's needs. We'd love to see you there!
