Mildred “Millie” Pyorala Scholarship
Supporting Chassell high-school graduates pursuing a degree in education.
The Mildred "Millie" Pyorala Scholarship was established in 2024 by retired Chassell Schools educator and Calumet High School alumna Mildred Pyorala to support the next generation of learners and educators. The scholarship awards $2,000 annually to one graduating senior from Chassell High School.

Mildred "Millie" Pyorala devoted over 30 years to teaching at Chassell High School, embodying her lifelong passion for education and academic growth. Her dedication to her students and community inspired her to establish this scholarship, supporting students' pursuit of their dreams of higher education. Through this fund, Millie's love for learning and her commitment to nurturing future educators and leaders will continue to make a lasting impact, empowering young minds to achieve their goals and build brighter futures.

Scholarship Requirements
Must be a graduating senior at Chassell High School
Demonstrate an intention to pursue a degree in education or teaching
Preference will be given to students who plan to pursue degrees in education or careers in teaching. If no applicants meet this criterion, consideration will be given to students pursuing other fields of study, including trade school programs.
