Save the Date: Grant Narrative Workshop February 25
Workshop: Build Your Grant Narrative
Date: February 25, from 4:00 to 5:30 pm
Location: Keweenaw Community Foundation, 417 Quincy Street, Hancock.
The session will take place in KCF's newest meeting space that's across the hall from our current office.
Description:
A strong grant narrative can be the difference between a proposal that gets noticed and one that gets funded. The goal of this workshop is to help strengthen your grant applications through storytelling. All grant writing skill levels are welcome!
First, we’ll break down what funders are really looking for in a narrative, common pitfalls to avoid, and practical strategies for writing with clarity, confidence, and authenticity.
Next, participants will learn how to clearly and compellingly describe their project or program, who it serves, and the measurable impact—key elements that appear in many grant applications. Finally, we’ll brainstorm an outline for your grant narrative using real examples from your organization.
After the workshop, attendees will:
Understand what funders look for in a strong grant narrative
Clearly communicate their organization’s mission, community need, and impact
Align their story with funder priorities and guidelines
Be able to outline the most important details for a narrative specific to their organization or project—creating something that can be adapted for multiple grant applications
To get the most out of this workshop, please bring either a project summary you would like to fund or a grant application.
