Welcoming Lauren Utykanski as KCF’s Community Engagement Manager
Lauren Utykanski, community engagement manager
The Keweenaw Community Foundation welcomes Lauren Utykanski as the new Community Engagement Manager! Lauren will support KCF’s mission by building connections, supporting local nonprofits, and amplifying community impact.
“We are excited to have Lauren join our team! She will be instrumental in supporting our communications and community engagement efforts. We look forward to the ways she will help our community partners communicate their stories, celebrate their successes, and expand the reach of their work,” said Vienna Leonarduzzi, Director of Development and Communications.
Lauren brings a strong background in storytelling, communications, and community-centered media. After earning her B.A. in Professional Writing from Michigan State University, she spent nearly three years creating educational programs and visitor experiences with the National Park Service. Lauren first lived in Houghton during the winter of 2018, between seasonal ranger jobs. Even as someone new to the area, she made genuine connections that stayed with her ever since. That experience helped shape her deep respect for the Keweenaw and the people who care for its history, cultures, and landscapes.
“One thing I noticed right away was how strongly this region supports and uplifts one another. I’m grateful not only to be welcomed back, but also to use my skills to return the favor and support the work of KCF and community partners,” said Lauren.
