Charitable Gaming Workshop

Charitable gaming is a powerful fundraising tool nonprofits can use to support their missions. This fall, the Michigan Charitable Gaming Division is offering a special in-person training to help local organizations learn the ins and outs of running successful gaming events. Guided by Zac Sorelle, participants will walk away with the knowledge and confidence to host fundraising activities that are both effective and impactful for their communities.

What to Expect

The training will begin with a general overview of charitable gaming in Michigan, perfect for those who are brand new to this type of fundraising. From there, the session will take a deeper dive into the wide range of opportunities available to nonprofits, including:

  • How to get licensed

  • Raffles

  • Bingo

  • Charity Game Tickets

  • Progressive Card Raffle

  • 50/50s

  • Playing Card Bingo

  • New tickets and games

  • Maximizing profits

  • Accountability and game records

Whether your organization is just starting to explore charitable gaming or already has experience but wants to expand its impact, this training will provide valuable tools, strategies, and insider knowledge. Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of how to run compliant, successful events that raise money and strengthen community engagement.

This training is a special Keweenaw Community Foundation Nonprofit Education and Networking Series event. This educational sessions are designed to strengthen local organizations through shared learning, resources, and collaboration.
